Clinical Decription:
Hereditary HFE-associated hemochromatosis is characterized by excessive storage of iron in the liver, skin, pancreas, heart, joints, and anterior pituitary gland. Targeted HFE variant analysis may be useful in diagnosing hereditary hemochromatosis in symptomatic individuals, or individuals with a confirmed family history.
