Clinical Decription:
Thrombophilia is characterized by venous thromboembolism (VTE) manifest most commonly in adults as deep-vein thrombosis (DVT) in the legs or pulmonary embolism. In some individuals, genetic testing may help to identify hereditary risk factors. Note: MTHFR testing should ONLY be completed in the presence of an elevated homocysteine level.
