Chromogranin A
(CGA)

Clinical Decription:
Chromogranin A is a protein present in the chromaffin granules of neuroendocrine cells. Chromogranin A is elevated in most patients with symptomatic or advanced neuroendocrine tumors. There is no universal calibration standard for chromogranin assays. Therefore, different antibody combinations contained in different kits do not produce comparable results. Serial monitoring should be performed with the same assays.
