Alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency is a genetic disorder which contributes to the development of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, bronchiectasis, liver cirrhosis and panniculitis. Serum Alpha Antitryspin levels must be done prior to ordering genotype test.
