Calculated Bioavailable Testosterone

Clinical Decription:
Bioavailable testosterone is calculated according to the Vermeulen equation (J. Clin. Endocrinol. Metab. (1999) 84, 3666) using SHBG, Testosterone and Albumin concentrations. A normal albumin level of 43 g/L is assumed and incorporated into the calculation. If a significantly altered albumin level is suspected, albumin can be measured on the sample and used in the equation.
