Clinical Decription:
Malignant hyperthermia susceptibility (MHS) is a pharmacogenetic disorder of skeletal muscle calcium regulation associated with uncontrolled skeletal muscle hypermetabolism. Genetic testing may be helpful in identifying individuals at risk for MHS, however a negative test result does not rule out the diagnosis.
