Clinical Decription:
Mutations affecting the V600 residue of the BRAF gene are found in Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) and Erdheim-Chester (ECD). PCR with primers targeting the common p.V600E and p.V600K mutations is performed to diagnose LCH, ECD and determine management options.
