Clinical Decription:
This test is for the quantitative detection of Blastomyces dermatitidis or Histoplasma capsulatum urinary antigen in human urine specimens using an enzyme immunoassay (EIA) method. This test aids in the diagnosis of histoplasmosis or blastomycosis without differentiation between the two fungal pathogens and monitor antigen levels following initiation of antifungal treatment.
