Alpha-2 macroglobulin

Clinical Decription:
Alpha-2 macroglobulin is a protease inhibitor and one of the largest plasma proteins. Increased levels may be found in nephrotoic syndrome, liver cirrhosis and diabetes. Low levels may be found in patients with acute pancreatitis, hyperfibrinolytic states, septecemia, after major surgery and a severe hepatic insufficiency.
