Anti-glomerular basement membrane antibodies

Clinical Decription:
Anti-GBM antibodies are implicated in the production of glomerulonephritis, glomerulonephritis and pulmonary hemorrhage (Goodpasture?s syndrome), and occasionally clinical presentations indistinguishable from those of idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis. The possibility of central nervous system involvement caused by an interaction of these antibodies with the choroid plexus basement membrane has also been raised.
