Phenytoin (Dilantin)
(Dilantin)

Clinical Decription:
Phenytoin is used in the treatment of epilepsy, particularly grand mal seizures, cortical focal seizures and temporal lobe epilepsy. Because of the narrow therapeutic index and wide inter-individual variability in the rate of phenytoin metabolism and clearance, the determination of blood levels of phenytoin is essential.
